Prof. Dr. Lisa Bachmann holds the Chair of Animal Health Management at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences and is a part-time scientist at FBN Dummerstorf. She is a specialist veterinarian for animal nutrition and dietetics, a member of the Society for Nutritional Physiology (GfE), and is authorized to provide continuing education in the field of animal nutrition at FBN. She is also a member of the advisory board for animal protection of Mecklenburg Vorpommern.
Since completing her doctorate, she has been intensively studied the feeding, fertility, and production lifespan of dairy cows and their calves. Her research focuses on the treatment of neonatal calf diarrhea and the feeding of dairy cows during the transition period, as well as the prevalence and risk factors for the occurrence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in dairy farming. Through her work in both research (University of Leipzig, FBN Dummerstorf) and industry (Alta Deutschland GmbH).
Prof. Dr. Lisa Bachmann is able to incorporate practical aspects into her research and then transfer the findings back into practice, including in the degree programs in agricultural sciences, sustainable agricultural management, and food chain environments at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences.

In the research consortium, Prof. Dr. Lisa Bachmann, together with PD. Dr. Björn Kuhla and colleagues, will supervise the feeding experiments in the FBN's experimental cattle facility, collect animal health-specific data, and evaluate the influence of algae feeding on animal health parameters (work package 2).
Sample material obtained from animal experiments, including rumen fluid and milk, will be shared with the consortium partners, and findings from the project will be incorporated into courses at the university and presented to dairy farmers in training events.
